Kate Middleton´s Stockings?

The British hosiery brand has been picked by Kate Middleton to wear on her wedding day to Prince William. The company has a long and distinguished history and has been supplying ladies with stockings since the 1920s, and it has since styled itself as “The Aristocrat of Silk Stockings”.
The company’s only blip in production was during the war when all silk production in the UK was switched into parachute manufacture.

The company is based in Derbyshire, and if the Kate Middleton rumour is true, Aristoc can expect a massive surge in sales of its  luxury hosiery.

Aristoc stockings are on sale in hundreds of UK shops including John Lewis and Debenhams.

And her lingerie choice for the big day? Well, that´s still a secret, but we are reliably told it´s NOT Theo Paphitis´ new brand Boux Avenue, although we´d have to say, his new range looks great & it´s certainly fantastic value for money.

Agent Provocateur, the luxury lingerie brand, had launched their first free iPhone app (which also works on the iPod Touch), called:

“Shake Me, Tilt Me, Undress ME”. The App was developed by Grape Digital, and is available for adults to download in the App Store.
When we tried this out, we were a little underwhelmed. The app instructs you to “Shake to Start”. That didn´t work.

Eventually a picture of a model comes up in a little black dress, and the app instructs you to “Touch ME!”. You are then redirected to the Agent Provocateur website which isn´t optimised for iPhones. We weren´t sure how you browse around.

Hmmmmmm. Nice idea but poor execution.

Edgy lingerie firm Agent Provocateur enjoyed the services of Winser for less than a year. She was hired by owner and private equity firm 3i to work on ‘special projects’ across its businesses. She was promoted in March 2010 as chairwoman at Agent Provocateur, which is run by CEO Garry Hogarth.

The French designer is a dab hand at creating risqué underwear for women.
He has developed an exclusive 23-piece collection for the Italian luxury lingerie house featuring several examples of his infamous “rocket cone” bras that come in pale ‘boudoir pink’ and jet-black. Madonna first made them a hit 20 years ago during her ‘Blonde Ambition’ world tour of 1990.

Each design, says the designer, is a “a celebration of the female body” – good for underneath or even better out on show as party or club-wear.

The collection is full of delicate satins, stretch, lace and tulle, and will be launched in the UK on Monday, January 17, at Harrods, Selfridges, Harvey Nichols, La Perla’s Sloane Street shop, and on Net-a-porter.com, which is already reporting huge demand.

Bras will set you back from £270 to £855, and knickers will cost between £135 and £450.
Standout pieces from the collection include a rich red, stretch-satin, ‘bra-dress’ with metal clasps and a multi-strap ‘bondage’ back (following on the current fetish craze); a black guipure ace bra, corset, suspenders and knickers set; a vintage-style bra with double-straps and satin shoulder-pads; a suspender-belt that accentuates your curves and bustiers to maximise your cleavage.

“Lingerie is part of my DNA ,” Gaultier said. “It is almost 30 years now since I designed my first corset dress.”
